Consultation

On your first visit to our chiropractic center you will be welcomed as a member of our family and our chiropractic assistant will greet you. We will get started right away with you if you did your intake form online. Dr. Beard will then talk with you in a comfortable, private exam room and ask you some specific questions regarding your health and condition. Following a detailed consultation to determine if Gonstead chiropractic care may be of benefit to you, the doctor will let you know if she can help you. If Dr. Ranae determines she cannot help you, you will be referred to the appropriate health care provider.

Examination

After a thorough consultation with Dr. Ranae, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include testing your ability to turn and bend, standard orthopedic & neurologic tests, postural exam and physical examination. In addition, 3 computerized scans (surface EMG, thermography and heart rate variability), are used to locate areas of swelling, inflammation and abnormal muscle spasm along the spine. They are the latest in chiropractic examination technology. The doctor will gain valuable information regarding your condition and how to best help you. This information includes how to specifically reduce and correct spinal nerve interference caused by spinal subluxations so all parts of your body may communicate effectively as intended. If necessary, the doctor may take X-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures.

X-Ray Studies

X-ray is sometimes required to get a better and complete evaluation of a patient’s spine. X-rays may be taken for several reasons. These include:

  1. to determine the condition of the discs (soft cushions between vertebrae)
  2. to determine the severity of spinal degeneration
  3. to locate problem areas in your spine such as: joint dysfunctions, misalignments, abnormal curves etc.
  4. to rule out other fractures or pathologies (disease).

The need for X-ray is considered on a case by case basis. Our equipment is up to date and digital, so Dr. Beard will get the best possible imagery.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed and Dr. Ranae has had ample time to study your results, your detailed exam will be explained and important questions will be addressed on your second visit to the office. Dr. Ranae Beard will provide the best treatment and wellness program that is specific and best for your needs and health goals.

Questions such as:

  1. How can you help me?
  2. How often do I need to come in?
  3. What will my treatment cost?
